Sperryville sits where US 211 begins the climb to Thornton Gap, which makes it the most flexible base in our area. The Nethers lots for Old Rag are to the south, Skyline Drive is straight up the hill, and the village itself has a distillery, a cellar brewery, a diner and a taproom within a mile of each other.

How far everything is from the village

Times are free-flow estimates from the center of the village. On Skyline Drive the limit is 35 mph and fall weekends are slower.

Where to stay

Hopkins Ordinary is a bed and breakfast on Main Street with the brewery in its cellar. About ten minutes east, The Inn at Little Washington has rooms alongside its restaurant. Hosts with cabins in the hollows around Sperryville can list free.
